Looking this shirt makes me turn jappaneese, figuratively and literally. Every time I’m in London I run to the Uniqlo stores, the Jappaneese brand that simply just rocks. And the shirts come in these cool tubes, and have some sick designs. I found this one on the internet, and i’m a bit dissapointed they didn’t have it when I was in London. It’s one of the coolest football shirts I’ve seen, with a crazy concept that I’ll keep in mind. <3 Uniqlo, buy buy buy their shirts!
I love the Dutch, I really do, and I love living in their country… the tulips, lack of sunshine, tall girls that speak funny, and the canals. But today was an amaizng day, and I decided to blog about a cool dutch football tee. This Bob Marley shirt is made by the guys at Football Culture, a Dutch collective. If you spoke dutch, you’d find their blog posts pretty damn funny. Either way, I’ve seen a lot of Bob Marley football shirts before, and this one is the best out there. If you like the reggae weed-loving culture hero, then you should buy this shirt. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s good quality.
Something a bit weird is going on, football is starting to be as green as the grass it’s played on. Fair Trade Sports has launched a line of footballs that are environmentally friendly and are fair trade. This is way cool, and I like their idea. Companies like these rock, so go on and buy some balls.
Oh snap! The flying mouse is in the house! Flying Mouse, aka Chow Hon Lam, is a designer that has been in the scene for around two years now, especially on threadless. This shirt stands out for me because of its overall simplicity, appeal, and the interesting idea. He has a lot more work that you can check out on his threadless page. He’s a unique designer in my eyes, and a bit crazy; and when I say crazy it’s not in a bad way… he plans on making 365 t-shirts in 365 days and release them to the threadless community. I guess he’s lucky that he isn’t making this in a leap year, then he’d have to pump out 366 designs. Good timing mouse… good timing.
The guys over at Arseshirts have designed and printed a lot of shirts in the past, and through their collection the Kolo Tourefootball tee stands out for me. Sometimes simple is boring, but in this case, simple works well. It’s a good idea, using imagery that immediately inspires the word “King.” They’re a site to look out for if you’re a gooner, and do check out their other shirts, some are pretty original as well. Keep up the good work Arsesigners!
Studs Up is a creation of Chris Toy, and features his football comic strips. It’s quite possibly the best football related website design, I give mad props to Fully Illustrated. The comic strips are hilarious, with very good humor and good illustration. Keep an eye on Chris Toy, and bookmark the site. It’s worth it.
Okay, so football may not be an entirely manly sport all the time. That’s why there’s sites like Kickette, which cover the lives of footballers, their hot wives and their money. I don’t really care about all that stuff honestly, but a lot of people do. This site is worth mentioning due to the nice design and good branding, an aspect that shows these women mean business. Kickette is: “Written by a small but perfectly formed crack team of female journalists, fashionistas and debauchery-chasing champagne swillers, Kickette is the number one authority on the web for all things fun, fluffy and footie-related.”
Check them out (no pun intended), and have a good read. As a warning, don’t expect any football news, just a bunch of fashion, gossip, and “sexy” football players. What more do you need?
It’s videos like these that show the beauty of football. A bunch of old men with backpacks playing the beautiful game like they were 14 years old again. I wish my grandpa was that cool… seriously.
In the realm of football, there is one company that takes design seriously. That company is Nike, a constant innovator in the field of design. Their design efforts reach beyond product design, and touch into the fashion, web-presence and advertising. If you haven’t seen the Nike Soccer website (how could you not?), check it out and be expected to spend at least 30 minutes looking at all the cool stuff. They just need to make some cool soccer tees now. We’ll eagerly wait for that day to come.
