The Premier League opened up with some sick games, especially the Arsenal game that saw Cesc Fabregas score 2 goals and get one assist. I think the picture does justice to summarize the opening weekend. A fantastic Cesc Fabregas in the red Arsenal shirt.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the latest signing for football giants and European Champions FC Barcelona. Ignoring price tags, the necessity of his signing, and obvious desires to show that they can keep up with Real Madrid on the signing spree, I’d like to look at the branding aspect surrounding the Zlatan signing.

Nike really gets a lot of attention when a Nike player is signed to a Nike sponsored club. In this case, the amount of pictures shown in papers and websites all over the world have Zlatan not only in a Barcelona shirt, but also wearing the Nike logo t-shirt.

Just look at the crazy amount of Nike logos in that picture, it’s insane. I’m sure that Nike logo t-shirt is not his favorite shirt. But fair enough, money is money.

A wonderful shot portraying one of the way football fans around the world show their love for their country. Art is possible on any canvas, and in football, the face is sometimes the canvas. Awesome shot.

This is a throwback shirt from the Moscow Champions League final in 2008. I’m not sure what I like more, the shirt, or the CCCP hat the guy is wearing. Either way, the shirt just fits this Russian guy perfectly. Awesome expression too. They should make more like that. Priviet!
