Republik of Mancunia

Aug 20

I was taking a close look at more blogs to see which to recommend to the Cescy readers. I’ve known about The Republik of Mancunia for a long time, and always appreciated the way in which the blogger writes, banters, and the way the website looks. It’s a Manchester United blog, that has a lot of interesting posts, well-run forums, and ever football t-shirts. However, as much as I am impressed by the site itself, and the author, the football tees lack in the quality of design aspect. If there was something I could ask for improving on this site, it’s the merchandise. There are some witty ones though, just don’t expect Nike soccer designs. If you’re a manc, check it out. I recommend it.

Studs Up website

Studs Up website

Studs Up is a creation of Chris Toy, and features his football comic strips. It’s quite possibly the best football related website design, I give mad props to Fully Illustrated. The comic strips are hilarious, with very good humor and good illustration. Keep an eye on Chris Toy, and bookmark the site. It’s worth it.

football gossip

football gossip

Okay, so football may not be an entirely manly sport all the time. That’s why there’s sites like Kickette, which cover the lives of footballers, their hot wives and their money. I don’t really care about all that stuff honestly, but a lot of people do. This site is worth mentioning due to the nice design and good branding, an aspect that shows these women mean business. Kickette is: “Written by a small but perfectly formed crack team of female journalists, fashionistas and debauchery-chasing champagne swillers, Kickette is the number one authority on the web for all things fun, fluffy and footie-related.”

Check them out (no pun intended), and have a good read. As a warning, don’t expect any football news, just a bunch of fashion, gossip, and “sexy” football players. What more do you need?
